New Day for Children began in 2009 as a response to the problem of child sex trafficking in the United States. With the help of many gifted people from all walks of life, our founder Jon Blankmeyer worked tirelessly to create a residential and educational haven for children seeking a way out of this exploitation.

In their exploration of placement options for girls, Jon and his wife Elaine visited a remote site in California that led to an opportunity to partner with another new ministry, Together Freedom, a residential program caring for trafficked kids. Over the past 12 years, we have expanded our partnerships to create an array of services to fit the individual needs of the girls. We are now thrilled to partner with programs in California, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas!

For many years, Jon did this work as a volunteer and was always in a part-time capacity. Four years ago, Jon entered into his well-deserved retirement. Sharon Wood then stepped into the role of Executive Director. Having Sharon at the helm full-time has been a real boost in moving New Day into a fruitful season. A gifted team grew over the years. We are all committed to the task of restoring and loving as many young trafficking victims as possible - the need is as great today as when we started!

Since 2009, New Day for Children has supported care for over 100 American children recovered from sex trafficking! As always, we can only do this lifesaving work with the service providers, faith communities, businesses, civic groups, law enforcement, community leaders, and individuals like YOU who make it all possible through sacrificial giving, volunteering, and advocacy!
