As a trauma therapist, I am a journey-mate with the wounded. Most of the girls arrive to therapy emotionally vacant, disconnected from their bodies and living in a constant state of fight or flight.

"Being a survivor of trafficking, more specifically, child sex trafficking from a very young age, I have experienced intense complex trauma and I live with CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Because of this, and because I don’t want to be stuck here for the rest of my life, therapy is crucial!"

Being in this line of work comes with so much joy and blessing, but it also comes with seeing and hearing a lot of hard and ugly things.

My work as a therapist for New Day for Children focuses primarily on attachment - the need we are all born with to form close, emotionally safe bonds. Tragically, traffickers prey on this innate need.

When a child is trafficked, there is trauma that impacts both the child, and the family unit. In response to this, we're developing a program for parents and caregivers called PATH - Parental Awareness of Trauma, Trafficking and Healing.
