New Day for Children enables a multi-faceted approach that meets the unique needs of minor trafficking victims. These girls receive a variety of services, including education, restorative care and therapy at the request of the parents. Our goal is to have them recover their stolen childhood, while building their self-esteem and confidence.

In addition to schooling, which is geared to their personal level of academic achievement, the girls go on fun outings, learn to cook together, do crafts and other group experiences. With parental permission, they meet frequently with a licensed therapist who specializes in treating women and children who have been victims of trauma and abuse.

​The girls take part in a  highly regarded horse therapy program that demonstrably impacts their mental and physical well-being. They attend horse camp a few times a year. ​In addition to horse camp, animal therapy is a fun part of their healing experience that they love, which builds trust, empathy and responsibility more quickly than might be otherwise possible. 

The girls New Day supports also participate in exciting outings such as swimming, boating, and hiking, as well as visits to the ocean, giving them the chance to be carefree children safe from adult predators and slaveholders. Movies, crafts, game nights, parties and social community building events are ongoing happenings.

The girls have the opportunity and joy of serving others who, like themselves, have experienced great challenges in their lives. They move beyond victim mode to seeing themselves as persons of dignity, with something valuable and unique to contribute to society.

Since its inception, New Day for Children has placed the recovery and care of sexually trafficked children foremost in our efforts. We are committed to their well-being, and to making a lasting difference in the lives of these young women.
